New Books and New Layout

As many of you are aware, our new titles are arranged on the new books trolley in the branch. We have had a change of layout and set aside a dedicated section for our new books.

Here’s the new layout below.

As you can see we have quite a selection of new and recent books, with over 60 new titles arrived today.

New titles are displayed with the cover facing out, while the recent titles are arranged on seven dedicated book shelves.

Yes, that’s seven shelves of new and recent books.

Some highlights include; Paula Hawkins’ (author of Girl on the Train) new novel, the latest Charlie Parker novel by Irish writer John Connolly and the award winning The Three Body Problem  by Cixin Liu.

Also included are the reissues of two modern classics; Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Stephen King’s The Gunslinger from his Dark Tower series and soon to be on the big screen.

Also new titles by James Patterson, Deidre Purcell, Sheila O’Flanaghan, Peter James, Karen Rose, Robert Goddard & many more.

Come in and check them out.

Spring into Storytime: Storytelling and Crafty Arts

Thanks to all the children who participated in our Spring into Storytime Crafts session last Friday. We had a great time and we hope everyone else did as well.

Keep an eye out for further sessions.

Abbeyleix Library LEGO club started on October 22nd 2016 with a Halloween themed event.

Since then we have had 45 different sessions with over 600 attendees creating their own little LEGO visions.

Here’s a sample of their work below. Click on the images for a closer look.

We’ve had some great fun since October,

But like all goods things, the LEGO Club must come to an end. Don’t fret, it will be back in time for a Halloween special.

The format will be changing but all those who have their names on the list, will still be on the list in October.

Thanks everyone for all the support and donations. And thanks to all the kids who have made it a joy to run the LEGO Club.

See you in October.
