Laois County Council Arts Service is currently preparing a strategic plan for the continued development of the arts in Co Laois. The contribution of artists, arts practitioners, venues, festivals, and all interested in arts development in the county is sought in order to fully inform the preparation of the arts plan.
The Laois Arts Service is multifaceted and includes Laois Arthouse, Laois Youth Theatre, Laois School of Music, Music Generation Laois, Art Act Grants, Tyrone Guthrie Centre Bursary, Artists in Schools Scheme, Public Art, Bealtaine Festival, Summer Arts Programme, Leaves Literary Festival, Laois Culture Night, National Drawing Day, support of the Dunamaise Arts Centre.

Laois Creative Ireland Survey
The Culture Team in Laois County Council would like your thoughts and suggestions in order to prepare the Culture & Creativity Plan for County Laois. In particular, we would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions regarding ‘Enabling Creativity in Every Community’ and how creative approaches and imaginative thinking can make our culture better understood, fully appreciated, more engaging, widely practiced, more relevant, promote best practice, support jobs, attract visitors and/or deliver what is needed locally. The Culture Team will review and consider all suggestions for possible inclusion in the Culture & Creativity Plan for County Laois.
Culture embraces arts, heritage, traditional ways-of-life, folklore, Irish language and creative industries in their broadest sense. The Creative Ireland Programme is a government initiative that envisages that every person living in Ireland will have the opportunity to fully realise his or her creative potential (https://creative.ireland.ie).
