Traffic and Parking around Laois

Currently we have Bye-Laws for Portlaoise, Mountmellick, Portarlington.   These Bye-Laws are implemented by Traffic Wardens employed by Laois County Council.

Illegal Parking of Vehicles on Public Roads

Laois County Council Roads and Parking Standards 
These are guidelines for Road Design,  Parking Standards, Visibility, Drainage and other standards. 

The Laois Storm Water Management Policy elaborates on Council requirements relating to surface water drainage systems for developments seeking planning permission.

Casual Trading in Laois

There is casual trading in Portlaoise every Friday from 9.00 -3.00 in Market Square. Please note that Parking is not permitted in the area between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm on Fridays.  Penalties will be incurred for vehicles parked in this area during the time stated above. A map of  Market Square outlines the area involved.
