We take an active part in encouraging recycling operations throughout the county. To compliment the extensive variety of materials accepted at Portlaoise Recycling Centre, Laois County Council also have a large bring bank network which takes glass and drink cans. The full list is given below:
Please do not abuse these facilities by leaving rubbish or waste at them. Bring your bags/boxes home with you and reuse them again.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas trees are being accepted at the recycling area at Kyletaleshia Landfill, please note they will only be accepted for the month of January.
There is a charge of € 3 for using the recycling facilities but remember you can also bring all your recyclable material along. This covers a wide list including:
Aluminium cans (eg drink cans)
Beverage Cartons (eg juice cartons etc)
Car Batteries
Car Tyres (conditions apply)
Cardboard
Clothes/Textiles
Engine Oil
Fluorescent Tubes and Light Bulbs
Gas Cylinders Glass (Clear, Green and Brown Glass - Blue Glass can go with Green Glass)
Please ensure that items are placed in the correct container(s) to ensure they are recycled properly. Remember to remove any bags/boxes that you brought with you.
