Rates are payable on commercial properties.
Rateable Valuations are fixed and/or altered by the Commissioner of Valuations.
Rates are calculated by multiplying the Rateable Valuation of the property by the annual rate on valuation as adopted by the County Council at its budget meeting.
This is the same as the Annual Rate on Valuation charged in 2008 and 2009 i.e. there has been no change in the rate since 2008.
Rates are payable in two moieties, the first on issue of demand and the second on the 1st of July.
The occupier is liable for the payment of rates but the owner becomes liable when the property becomes vacant.
How to pay your rates
In all cases, you must indicate your Customer Number when making a payment.
