Social Media Policy


Laois County uses interactive online social media to share information, gather feedback and create a dialogue with our community. We welcome your input and thoughts, but will remove comments or content that includes:

  • Obscene or racist content
  • Personal attacks, insults, or threatening language
  • Potentially libellous statements
  • Plagiarized material; any material in violation of any laws, including copyright
  • Private, personal information published without consent
  • Information or links unrelated to the content of the forum
  • Commercial promotions or spam

Our social media sites will be monitored on a regular basis during normal hours opening hours.

We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers, and will endeavour to join the conversation where possible. 
However, we may not be able to reply individually to all messages or comments received.

We will endeavour to ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people.

Laois County Council is not responsible for the accuracy of content posted by any subscriber in any forum; opinions expressed in comments on our social media forums do not necessarily represent those of Laois County Council.
