Strategy Review 2006-2008
The strategy is now over three years old, and significant changes have occurred in Laois in the time, for example, our population has grown, especially in the east of the county. Parts of the strategy have been implemented, and there is a need to refocus our attention on what we can now achieve in the next three years.
This document looks at the sub themes under each of the six themes of the strategy and highlight the priorities selected by the County Development Board, the first steps/actions that will be taken to implement each of these priorities, and the expected outcomes of each action

Laois Local Anti-Poverty Strategy 2005
The Local Anti-Poverty Strategy (LAPS) looks at what agencies like Laois County Council, the Health Service Executive (HSE), the Department of Social and Family Affairs. Laois VEC or FAS and organisatios like Portlaoise Community Action Project (PCAP) and Mountmellick Development Association Social Inclusion (MDASI) can do at local level to provide these resourses and supports and to overcome the barriesrs, so that disadvantage can be elimited or overcome. The aim is to make sure that people who are poor, or left out in society can have a better quality of Life.
