Niamh and author Deirdre Purcell

Niamh Boyce, has been announced as the Overall Winner of the New Irish Writer Awards in the Hennessy Literary Awards. She was also chosen as category winner in the “Emerging Poetry” section for her poem “Kitty”.
Niamh is from Athy, Co. Kidare and works in Ballylinan Library. She is an accomplished writer of short stories and poetry and has been published in many different newspapers and journals including The Sunday Tribune, The Moth Magazine, Crannog, The WOW Anthology and The Yellow Room.
This year, Niamh has already been announced as one of the winners of the 2012 Irish Writers’ Centre Novel Fair Competition with “The Herbalist” and has previously been shortlisted for the following:
