The first results of the 2011 census were recently
published. This is the first of a series of reports covering the 2011 census
results that are due for publication throughout 2012. In addition to hard copy
publication each of these reports will also be available online as they are
published and will be accompanied by an extensive range of interactive web
tables which can be searched and downloaded.
The census provides a range of recent and in-depth data
about the people of Ireland, their characteristics and their circumstances.
This is an essential component of evidence based decision making and will be of
interest to local authorities engaged in policy and decision making.
