The Household Charge is an annual charge introduced by the Local Government (Household Charge) Act 2011 / Local
Government (Household charge) Regulations 2012 which is payable by owners of residential property.
Laois County Council would like to thank all Citizens who have Registered and paid the €100 Household Charge. The collection of the charge is critical to enable this Council to continue to provide local essential services including fire and emergency, roads, water, housing, parks and libraries.
Registration and Payment of the charge can be made:
1) ONLINE at http://www.householdcharge.ie
2) Alternatively, renewal or registration forms can be downloaded online, completed and forwarded with payment (cheque/bank draft/postal order made payable to Household Charge) to Household Charge, Local Government Management Agency, P.O Box 12168, Dublin 1.
3) Cash Office, Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise: Mon – Fri 9.30am to 3.30pm
Note: As Late payments fees and interest are payable after 1st April, 2012, Laois County Council encourages you to Register and pay the charge as soon as possible. For your convenience, a Schedule of late payment fees is tabled below:
