Ordnance Survey Mapping
Laois County Council has invested quite substantially in base mapping obtained from the Ordnance Survey of Ireland (OSI). Our last contract signed was in the region of €250,000.
The various types of mapping used in Laois County Council include the following:
Raster:
- 6 inch mapping
- Discovery Mapping
- Rural Internet Mapping
Vector:
- 1:1000 Mapping
- 1:2500 Mapping
- 1:5000 mapping
Aerial Photography:
- 1995 Black and White Aerial Photography (Full County Coverage)
- 2000 Colour Aerial Photography (Full County Coverage)
Ordnance Survey Ireland maps, data and publications are protected under the terms of the Copyright Acts. Laois County Council are not permitted to distribute mapping to external organisations or members of the public. Anyone wishing to reproduce Ordnance Survey Ireland material, or use it as a basis for their own publications, must obtain a license from Ordnance Survey Ireland, for which a fee may be payable.
