The responsive arm of the Service. This high-profile side of our work is conducted by the crews of our 8 frontline fire stations, manning 9 fire appliances, our Emergency Rescue Tender (ERT) based at Portlaoise,, the Hydraulic Platforms (HP) also based at Portlaoise, and other specialist vehicles - including all-terrain 4 wheel drive vehicles - attending and tackling a diversity of emergency situations. Our 72 highly-trained firefighters and officers work from eight fire stations and headquarters and are on call 24hrs a day 365 days a year to respond to your requests for assistance.
