Register of Electors

The Register of Electors 2012/2013 will be published on 1st February, 2012 and will come into force on 15th February, 2012 for a period of one year.  Once published, you can check if you are included on the Register of Electors at County Council Offices, Libraries, Garda Stations, Health Centres and Post Offices or at www.checktheregister.ie.

If you are not included on the Register and are over 18 years or will reach 18 years on or before 15th February, 2012 you can apply for inclusion on the next Draft Register of Electors.  You can also apply to correct your details on the Register or to change your address on the Register.

Postal & Special Voters Lists

Special voting arrangements apply in the case of the following electors:

  • Members of the Defence Forces
  • Members of An Garda Siochána
  • Diplomats and their spouses
  • Persons with a physical illness or physical disability living at home
  • Persons unable to vote in person because of the circumstances of their occupation/education
  • Persons with a physical illness or physical disability living in a hospital, nursing home or similar institution

If you wish to apply for inclusion on the Postal or Special Voters List, please contact Corporate Affairs (details above) for an application form and further information. Application forms for inclusion on the Postal or Special Voters List must be completed and returned by 25th November, 2012, except in the case of Diplomats and their spouses where application forms must be completed and returned by 30th September, 2012.
