Cathaoirleach's Reception for Heywood Community School

At a reception in Áras an Chontae on Wednesday 7th May, 2008, Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council, Councillor John Moran, hosted a reception in honour of Heywood Community School’s All Ireland Under 19 National Basketball Cup winning Team.

The reception was attended by Public Representatives, Laois County Council staff, Heywood Community School staff and the victorious team members and their parents. 

Laois Down Syndrome Association Fundraising Launch

On Wednesday, 16th April, 2008, in Áras an Chontae, Laois County Council hosted the Launch of Laois Down Syndrome Association's major fundraising event for 2008.  The fundraising event - a Charity Truck Show at Portlaoise Rugby Club - took place over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
