Draft County Development Plan 2011-2017

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 12 (7) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000-2010, that Laois County Council has prepared amendments to the Draft County Development Plan 2011-2017 for the administrative area of County Laois.

At present the 3rd Manager's Report is under consideration.  The Draft County Development Plan 2011-2017 will be brought to the Council for approval in October 2011.

Proposed Amendments to Draft Laois County Development Plan

The closing date for submissions was August, 2011.

The Draft Plan amendments are accompanied by a Draft Environmental Report, prepared in accordance with the Planning & Development (Strategic Environmental Assessment) Regulations 2004, a Appropriate Assessment Stage 2 report, pursuant to Article 6(3) of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC.

Paper copies may be requested from the Planning Authority at a cost of €10 per hard copy (CD copy - Free), however in order to minimise cost it would be preferable for organisations to download the texts where possible.

The Council is subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. If you consider that any of the information supplied by you is either commercially sensitive or confidential in nature, this should be highlighted and the reasons for its sensitivity specified. In such cases, the relevant material will, in response to FOI requests, be examined in light of exemptions provided for in the FOI Act.

Graiguecullen LAP –  Stage One of the public consultation is complete Stage Two will commence in early 2012. 

Portarlington LAP - The Pre-Draft Public Consultation has taken place and the Ist Manager's Report based on submissions received is being prepared.  The statutory LAP process is not expected to commence until early 2012.

Portlaoise and Mountmellick LAPS – The Pre-Draft  Public Consultation has taken place and the 1st Manager's Report based on submissions received is being prepared.  The statutory process is not expected to commence until March / April 2012
