Tourism Strategy for County Laois 2006-2010 was launched at Castle Durrow in Durrow, Co. Laois on Monday 27th February 2006. This strategy is to change the perception of Laois as a Tourism destination. This ambious 5 year plan intends to raise the tourism overnight stays, find a large attraction for the county and work with the project to get it into action. The plan is very ambious but also very possible. The strategy is a joint project between Laois Tourism, Laois Leader and Laois County Council. The funding was provided by Laois leader and the council and it is intended to continue support for the duration of the strategy.
