Active Retirement

There will be a tea/coffee morning on Thursday 10th May at 10.30am with a documentary screening of Mitchell and Kenyon in Ireland for the Active Retirement Group

Mountmellick Art Gallery Outreach Programme

As part of the Mountmellick Art Gallery Outreach Programme

Aisling Weir will give a Photography Workshop "Improving your digital portraits" in the Library on Tuesday 15th May from 10.30- 12.30. Participants will need to bring their camera and a digital portrait on a memory stick.

  Ciorcal Comhrá

Are you interested in joining a group for some light conversation as Gaeilge? Mountmellick Library are forming a Ciorcal Comhrá and are  taking names of anyone interested in practising/ improving their Irish through conversation. All standards are welcome and the next cruinniú will be after Easter. .

Storytime

Interactive Storytime will be held in the Library on Thursday May 10th at 4pm. It is suitable for 4-7 year olds(approx.). There is no need to book.

Reading Challenge

How it works

  • The Reading Challenge is suitable for  ages 7-12 years
  • Select a book from the box and check it out
  • Each book will have a question sheet with 5 questions and you can collect this at the desk
  • All you have to do is read the book and find out the answers
  • Complete the question sheet and hand it back when you return your items
  • You can borrow a maximum of 2 books at a time

Certificates will be awarded to those who complete the challenge

Knitting Circle

 Would you like to sit & knit in the company of other knitters? Come along to our  knitting group from 10.30 - 12 on Tuesday mornings. All welcome. Just bring some needles & wool.

 Bookclubs

The adult bookclub is currently running at Mountmellick Library. Meetings will take place once a month. The next meeting is from 11 - 12am on Tuesday the 5th May 2012. The book to be discussed is The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. 

The Junior Bookclub (10-12yr olds) will continue on the 6th June at 4.15pm. The books for discussion is The Magician's Apprentice by C.S. Lewis and Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. This will be the last meeting before the summer break.
