EADROM ART CLASSES

The next series of Eadrom art classes for 5-12 year olds will take place in the library on Saturday 4th February and on Saturday 18th February from 12-1pm. To book a space in one of these classes call the library on 057 87 30020.

THE GALLERY @ ABBEYLEIX LIBRARY

From 10th January until 11th February, an exhibition by John Jones titled We Exercise the Power will be on display in the art gallery. We Exercise the Power is a project comprised of watercolour paintings of the covers of books who have been, at one time or another, banned in Ireland throughout the last century.

Wood sculptures by Paradzai Havatitye will also be on display in the gallery until 10th March.

BEGINNERS CREATIVE WRITING COURSE

A creative writing course for beginners will commence in Abbeyleix from 6th February. This ten week course with award-winning author John Maher will take place at Bluegate Photo Lodge and will run from 7:30-9:30pm each week. FAS E-LEARNING COMPUTER CLASSES

The FAS E-Learning programme will re-commence in January. This is a basic computer literacy course which is aimed at those who currently have little or no computer skills. These courses will be held in the library where application forms are currently available. Please note that a waiting list for participants may be in operation if there is a high demand for places.

2013 SUBMISSIONS FOR THE GALLERY @ ABBEYLEIX LIBRARY

The library is inviting submissions from artists, photographers and sculptors who would like to book an exhibition space in the gallery for 2013.
