Laois has Special Areas for Conservation (SACs) at the following sites:

• Clonaslee Eskers and Derry Bog
• Lisbigney Bog
• Ballyprior Grassland
• Mountmellick
• Slieve Bloom Mountains
• Coolrain Bog
• Knockacollier Bog
