Mission Statement:

Laois School of Music will endeavour to maximise participation in and access to the widest range of musical experiences for the people of Laois, in accordance with the highest standards of excellence.

Introduction:

The Arts Office, Laois County Council identified a significant deficit in the provision of musical education in the Midlands region. In order to bring this concept to fruition, Laois County Council recognised the need for a partnership approach with Laois V.E.C and the Arts Council.

Under the "Arts in Laois Development Plan 2001-2003", the development of music is one of its principal objectives. Laois County Council, with assistance from Laois V.E.C. and the Arts Council have prioritised this artform with the establishment of Laois School of Music
