Tyrone Guthrie Residency Bursary Awards 2012
- A Bursary is available to enable a Laois artist to spend one week working at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in County Monaghan. The bursary is open to artists in all fields and is selected on previous achievements and project/s in hand. 2012 Tyrone Guthrie General Application Form
- In 2012 a special Bursary for Printmakers is available and will enable two print artists to spend a week sharing and working in the new Print Studio at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. One of the artists must be an experienced printmaker and preferably a member of a recognised print studio. The 2011 Bursary Scheme to the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annamakerig, Co. Monaghan has been awarded to writer Ann Egan.
Ann Egan, a multi-award winning Laois poet, and former Writer- in-Residence with Laois County Council. She has an M.A. in History and a B.A. in Languages. Her awards include: The American Ireland Fund; The Annaghmakerrig Prize; Writers’ Week Listowel Poetry Prizes; RTE Radio 75 Years and many more. Her books are: Landing the Sea (Bradshaw Books); The Wren Women (The Black Mountain Press); Brigit of Kildare (Kildare Library and Arts Services). She has held several writing residencies; edited fourteen books; edited The Midlands Arts and Culture Magazine and co-edited The Great Book of Maynooth. The Wren Women was dramatised by Writers’ Week Listowel. Her work has been broadcast on Sunday Miscellany; The Darkness Echoing on RTE Radio 1 and on local radio stations. She is widely published at home and abroad.
