Illegal dumping is a cause for serious concern in County Laois. Dumping is illegal, unsightly and unnecessary and offenders will be prosecuted by Laois County Council.
Householders are responsible for their domestic refuse – beware of BOGUS COLLECTORS! All Waste Collectors must be authorized to collect waste and hold a valid WASTE COLLECTION PERMIT. If in doubt, please contact The Environment Section, Laois County Council on 057 8674319. Remember if your waste is found dumped illegally, you will face prosecution.
NOTICE – RESTRICTED ACCESS Illegal Dumping at Derrybeg Bog, Trumra, Mountrath, Co. Laois

Laois County Council has noted the security barrier placed at the entrance to Derrybeg Bog, Trumra, Mountrath, Co. Laois has yet again been damaged. A significant amount of illegal dumping and burning of waste has taken place in recent weeks. Laois County Council has no option but to restrict all vehicle access to this area until next year’s Turf Cutting season.
Please note access to this site will be restricted to all vehicles as of Saturday 26th November. It is with regret that such steps have to be taken however the Environment Section, do hope you understand the need for this action.
