Community Action Project
Initially pilotted in 2008 pilot, this community based action project has grown year on year. Previous participants included Attanagh, Ballyroan, Ballylinan, Clonaslee, Errill and Timahoe.
In 2011, it was decided to extend the project to work with a town (rather than a large and/or small village). Portlaoise was chosen and already 2 surveys have been undertaken focusing on general litter and dog fouling. Subsequent surveys will focus on chewing gum litter and cigarette related litter.
Portlaoise Against Litter (PAL) and Portlaoise Tidy Towns are working with Laois County Council on this worthwhile initiative which aims to tackle the anti social behaviour of litter pollution.
Please do your share and show you care by not littering.
